Colorful Flower Mandalas

Mandala Pattern

Finished Size: 9 inches (23 cm)
Crochet Hook: G (4mm)
Yarn:
Pink flower: Drops Paris yarn #14 Strong yellow, #33 Medium Pink, #06 Shocking Pink, #11 Opal green and Acaucania Ulmo Solid  #767
Blue flower: Acaucania Ulmo Solid  #767 and Drops Paris yarn # 11 Opal Green, #06 shocking pink,  #02 light turquoise, and #14 strong yellow
Purple Flower: Drops Paris yarn #11 Opal Green, #14 strong yellow, #45 dusty orange, #8 dark purple, and #31 medium purple

Stitches used: slip stitch (ss), single crochet (sc), half Double Crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc) treble or triple crochet (tr)

Special Stitches:
Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc)-Yo, insert hook from back to front to back around the next double crochet, (Yo, draw through two loops on hook) Twice,
Puff stitch- *yo, insert hook into stitch indicated and pull up a loop,* repeat from * to* two more times, yo and pull through all 7 loops on the hook, ch1 to close the stitch

This pattern is written in U.S. terms
Color changes are not listed in the pattern, as to leave the color creativity to you.

Start with a magic circle
Rd 1: ch 1, 10 sc in the circle, connect to beginning sc (10 sc) (ch1 does not count as a st)
Rd 2: puff st in same st as joining, puff st in each st around, join to first st, end off, (10 puff sts)
Rd 3: join yarn with a ss to the top of any puff st, *ch 7, ss in the top of the next puff st,* repeat from * to * around to the last puff st, ch 7, ss in the first ss made, end off  (10 ch 7 sps)
Rd 4: sc join in the 4th chain of any ch7 sp,  * ch 5, sc in the 4th ch of the next ch 7 sp * repeat from * to * to the last ch 7 sp, sc in the 4th chain of the ch 7 sp, ch 5, ss to the beginning sc, end off
Rd 5: Join yarn in any ch 5 sp, ch 3, 5 dc in the same sp, * sc in the next sc, 6 dc in the next ch 5 sp* repeat from * to * around, join, end off.
Rd 6: join with a spike sc in ch 7 sp from round 2 (over sts of round 3 & 4), ch 3, * BPdc in the next 6 dc, tr in the ch 7 space from rd 2 (over sts of round 3 & 4) * repeat from * to * around, join with ss to beginning ch 3, end off.
Rd 7: sc join in any tr, * BPdc around the next 6 dc, sc in tr * repeat from * to *, join with ss in beginning sc, end off.
Rd 8: join with sc in any sc, * ch 8, sc in the next sc *, repeat from * to * around, join to 1st sc, end off
Rd 9:  join with a sc to any sc, ch 4, * dc, tr, dc, in the 4th chain of the chain 8 of previous round, ch 4, sc in the next sc, ch 4 * repeat from  * to * around, join to first chain of beginning ch 4, end off
Rd 10: sc join in any tr st, * ch 6, dc in the next sc, ch 6, sc in the next tr *, repeat from * to * around, join last ch 6 in the beginning sc in stead of tr st, do not end off
Rd 11: ss in any ch 6 sp, ch 3, 4 dc in same sp, sc in the next sc or dc (depending on where you start), * 5 dc in the next ch 6 sp, sc in the next sc or dc (depending on where you start) *, repeat from * to * around, join to beginning ss, end off, weave in ends
